Molly Emma Newbold
Youngest Female Snooker Referee
30th May 2010 -
Well it has been a long time since I updated my website (Too Long!) and a lot has happened since then.
Ronnie O'Sullivan's Search for a Star has been the biggest event I have refereed this year. There were no full frames of snooker played but several shots were set up for the eight finalists to demonstrate their skills and abilities. This was a fresh idea for snooker and was exciting to referee. I would personally like to thank Rileys for offering me sponsership after I took part in this event as this is a big help for us and I am very grateful. Seeing the Crucible again and being reunited with so many people made it a day to remember.
Next came the EASB Finals Weekend where I refereed for the second year running when I took charge of the Ladies final between Hannah Jones and Jan Hughes. Although the hot weather made the job a little uncomfortable, it was still a good match to referee and I was very pleased to be invited for a second year.
Away from snooker, I am pleased to say that my love for driving has returned after my accident a few months ago and my car is looking as good as new. I have also met the 2000 miles mark within four months as me and my car have visited a lot of new places together now.
As all areas of my life are starting to come together, I am once again happy within my current job, in a wonderful relationship with my fiance Ben who reached a milestone of his own as he managed to hold his place on the Professional Main Tour, I have my new found freedom with the help of my car. And what comes next? House shopping!!

23rd March 2010 -
A great start to the new year, I kept to my new year's resolution with my driving lessons and on the 26th February I passed my test first time. I also only got five minor errors which I was happy with.
And what comes after passing a driving test? Car Shopping!! Within one test drive, I had found the car I wanted and by the end of the day, I had brought myself a brand new car.
On the 5th of March, I drove my very own car for the first time and I have been driving every day since, I am up to 463 miles in counting. It is a skill which I personally think everybody should get as it completely changes your life.
So far this year, I haven't done much snooker, just the two competitions to date and I am scheduled to referee at the next Pro-Ticket Event on the 3rd and 4th of April but things will look up shortly!

1st January 2010 -
2010 is finally here and I hope you all had a very good Christmas.
As much as I enjoyed the break from both of my current jobs, I look forward to getting back to work, starting my driving lessons (again!) and refereeing many more snooker matches as well as many other things.
2009 was a year which started quietly but brought some good tournaments and new experiences towards the end of the year.
My best memory has to be the recent 6 Reds World Championship where I refereed my first match live on television, well Sky really. It was a match between Andrew Pagett and World Champion Reanne Evans.
Another good competition was going to watch the UK Championship for my 18th Birthday where we watched Neil Robertson get a 5-3 lead over Tom Ford before watching part of Mark Selby's match against Jamie Cope. Two entertaining matches. What a way to spend an 18th birthday weekend! Couldn't think of anything which I would rather do, the only thing that could have made it better was if I was actually refereeing one of them matches! One day, maybe.
After I came home from the 6 Reds, in Ireland, I found plenty of emails from people in all different corners of the world. So I'd like to thank them for taking the time to visit my little corner of the web and for all the lovely messages.
It will be a busy start to the new year for me as it is still our busy season in my other job (Shipping Office Administrator) but that won't stop me trying to achieve my new year's resolution of sticking to my driving lessons and hopefully passing my test sometime this year. As I started lessons a few months ago then stopped so I hope I can do better this year.
Well that's it for 2009, let's see what 2010 has in store for us.
